I searched my hard drive for any pictures of me and found that I am always the one taking the pictures. I did find this one of me and my son, Chase.
It seems the only other ones are of me riding. I have now added some of me and my young gelding. They are all within the past few years with the exception of the jumping photo - It was taken 20 years ago!
I will have to set the tripod up and get some more pictures with me in them.My first love was my pets and my horses. They are a big part of my life and who I am. Growing up I spent every weekend, summer vacation, spring break and holidays riding and with my barn friends. We even had our own bedroom at the barn where we kept our horses. Now, more than 25 years later, I am still friends many of the same people that I grew up showing AQHA, 4-H and local shows with.
Now that we’re all grown up the “girl talk” still consists of what our horses did, when it is going to stop raining/cool off/warm up so we can ride, or how the show season is going. We still love to run off on a trail ride and act like kids again, but we have in fact grown up and found that although we have other obligations horses are still part of who we are. Some of my childhood friends have become veterinarians, run stables, lead 4-H groups, organize endurance races, train horses all over the US, and have even gone off to other countries to train horses. I found my way into photography. Parents, friends and family members are always too busy cleaning boots, tightening saddles, lugging buckets of water or holding horses to take the time to get the photos we all want.
I started out simply shooting my own horses for sale and for friends at local shows. When my horse for sale ads started getting as many inquires about the photos as the horses I started offering equine photography services. I currently shoot events such as horse shows, dog events, sale photos, farm shots, registration pictures as well as pet and portrait photography.
